“The forbidden love of brutal December night”

“December has never been so cruel
It’s never been so windy
Yet so silent
It’s brutal beyond my comprehension
This December
It’s the most unusual silence
I wander in the silence of this dark night
Dark December night
A night that was once my home
The same night
Seems so alien today
This December
It’s windy
It’s stormy
It’s rainy like never before
The falling leaves are tearing me down
The silhouette of my imagination runs me wild
December that was once my home
Seems so alien seems so distant seems so far away
Deep into this dark night of brutal December.

There’s an unusual silence
Long deep silence
That penetrates my existence
That was once engulfed by the wild flames of your love
That was once seared in the flames of your divine touch
This silence is deafening
Not to my ears
But to all my years
To all my fears
To all my tears
It’s this silence that your void has gifted
And all I do
Is hold a broken umbrella
A torn umbrella
In the rains of December
Hoping for the forbidden fruit
For one drop among a billion
Be the one that reaches me
After touching you
Hoping for a drop of your love
To fall upon me
In this most unusual silent December
This most unusual silence
Of this most brutal December night
All that I hope for
Is your one gaze
Drenched in our forbidden love
Just once
In this brutal December night.”

I feel these lines speak specifically to the suffering of many marriages. I enjoyed reading the entire piece. Well written, Abhi!
